Last updated 16 August 2026

Afterglow is being built by one person. This page is written plainly on purpose, because a policy nobody can read is not consent.

Who is responsible

Afterglow is run by Biobrainbuddies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, which is the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at alwaysanafterglow@gmail.com.

What we collect

Right now, one thing: your email address, and only if you type it into one of the forms on this site.

We also record which form you used, so we know whether to send you the grief workbook, news about the waitlist, or both. That is the entire record we hold about you.

This site is a preview. Everyone named on it is an example, not a real person, and there is nothing here for you to upload. When Afterglow opens properly and you can create a memorial, this page will be rewritten before that happens, and you will be told.

What we do not collect

Why we are allowed to hold it

Your consent, given when you submitted the form. You can withdraw it at any moment, and withdrawing it is one click — every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately.

Who else sees it

Your address is stored in Kit (kit.com), the service that sends the emails. Kit is based in the United States and processes the data on our behalf under their standard data processing terms. They do not use your address for their own purposes.

The site itself is hosted by Vercel. Vercel keeps short-lived server logs that include IP addresses, which is ordinary for any web host and is used to keep the site up and to stop abuse.

That is the complete list. Nobody else receives your address.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us not to. If you unsubscribe, your address stays marked as unsubscribed in Kit so that we do not accidentally email you again. If you would rather be deleted outright, ask and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, hand it to you in a portable form, or stop using it. There is no charge and no form to fill in. Email us and we will do it, normally within a few days and always within one month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Children

This site is not intended for children under 13. Grief has no age limit, but a mailing list should.
